Wow... Virtual Convention indeed! Insert golf clap and head shake in awe!

With many of us intrigued and looking forward to our first virtual convention, we really had no idea what to expect. How will it work? What will it look like? Will it be a Zoom meeting on steroids? Uhm, well, no! It was beyond comprehension and expectations.

From receipt of the beautifully put together "Diamond Jubilee of AA in Australia souvenir booklet" arriving at our doors, through to the easy to navigate website and app, there were comedians, speakers from around the globe (youngies, old timers, indigenous, Father Bill W), acts from our resourceful Melbourne actors whilst still in lockdown, fascinating panels, cutting of the 75th birthday 'cake' (lamington) and SOOOO much more; it really was a very special experience.

We want to acknowledge the HPC team (and of course there's always more behind the team behind the scenes) that first spent two years in planning for a face to face event, to then shift gears in spectacular fashion to bring us this virtual event. An incredible amount of hours, resources, love, sweat and tears goes into these events; and for a long time leading up to them (we know...), so please join us in sharing the love and gratitude to the Toowooomba Host Planning Committees (HPC's), yep, both of them:

Convention Chair: Todd G. (for first 2 years)

Convention Chair: Jon W. (last six months)

Deputy Chair and Program Chair: Steve R.

Fundraising Chair and Author of Souvenir Book: Chase T.

Treasurer: Kirsten T. (Venue & Catering for physical convention)

Secretary/Communications: Donna R.

Technology Chair: (virtual) Tom R. (who put in UNBELIEVABLE hours to make virtual happen)

Accommodation & Transport (physical): Steve M.

Congratulations and thank you! We would love to shout you a cuppa here in Adelaide (unless of course you win one of our bottomless cups of coffee, then... *ahem).

Yours in service
