ALATEEN
We encourage all members of AA and Al-Anon to bring their children along to the convention. Alateen meetings and activities will be available throughout the convention. This is a great opportunity for them to meet other young people living with Alcoholism.
Alateen is a fellowship of young Al-Anon members, usually teenagers, whose lives have been affected by someone else's drinking.
Alateens are young people who come together to:
-
share experience, strength and hope with each other;
-
discuss their difficulties;
-
learn effective ways to cope with their problems;
-
encourage each other;
-
help one another understand the principles of the Alateen program.
AL-ANON
Alcoholism, alcohol abuse or problem drinking affects thousands of families in Australia and worldwide. Al-Anon's purpose is to help families and friends recover from the effects of living with someone whose drinking is a problem.
